Editorial policy

These rules describe how the sorry·nda newsroom produces, verifies and corrects its stories. They are the same for all six language editions.

Sources and fact-checking

Every fact rests on a source that can be checked: a document, an official company statement, financial reporting, a public register, or a direct comment from someone involved. An anonymous source is used only when the information is confirmed by a second independent source, and the story explains why the name is withheld. Rumours and social-media chatter do not become stories without confirmation.

Figures, dates, legal entity names and deal values are checked against the primary source before publication — and again when the story is translated into each language edition.

Company and brand names

A company name is spelled the way the company spells it: in its original form, without transliteration and without translation. The spelling is identical across all six language editions — one company, one form of the name. The publication itself is called “sorry·nda” in every locale.

Independence and money

We do not sell news, mentions or places in the directory. Publication cannot be bought, and removal cannot be paid for. Submitting an investment project through the form is free.

Advertising and partner content, should it appear, will be clearly labelled and visually separated from editorial material. We do not run unlabelled advertising.

Moderation of an investment project checks that the submission is complete and plausible; it is not an investment recommendation and not due diligence. The decision to invest, and its consequences, stay with the reader.

Conflicts of interest

An editor does not cover a company they are connected to by employment, ownership or family — the story goes to another editor. Gifts, trips and invitations paid for by a company are disclosed to the newsroom before work on the story begins, and a company-paid trip is disclosed in the story itself.

Translation and the role of AI

A language model produces the draft translation; topics, texts and publication decisions stay with people. AI does not write stories for the newsroom. The newsroom is responsible for every published text, whatever tool produced the draft.

Corrections and right of reply

A confirmed factual error is corrected in every language edition of the story. A substantive correction — one that changes the meaning, a figure, a name or a conclusion — carries a note at the foot of the story saying what was corrected and when. Typos and style edits are not flagged.

A company or person criticised in a story may send a reply on the substance, and we publish it in the same story.

User content

The site is closed to reader publishing: there are no comments, and registering does not grant the right to publish. The only user input is an investment project submission, which is moderated before it appears on the site.

Archive and deletion

A story taken off the site goes to the archive and is deleted from there after 90 days. We do not take a story down at the request of its subject — only for a proven factual error or a legal requirement.
